Level Four Restaurant Presents: “The Art of Wine & Cuisine: An Exclusive Evening with Idiom Wines”

Level Four Restaurant invites discerning food and wine enthusiasts to an unforgettable evening of culinary artistry and exceptional winemaking with “The Art of Wine & Cuisine An Exclusive Evening with Idiom Wines”, an exclusive dining experience taking place on Wednesday the 29th of July 2026.

Celebrating the elegance of Italian-inspired varietals and the award-winning craftsmanship of Idiom Wines, the evening promises a sensory journey where every course has been thoughtfully paired to showcase the character, complexity and heritage of some of South Africa’s finest wines.

Guests will be welcomed with a glass of Clifton Viognier Bubbly 2025 before embarking on a meticulously curated five-course dining experience created by Chef Grant van der Riet. Each dish has been expertly designed to complement a selection of premium Idiom wines, creating harmonious flavour combinations that elevate both the cuisine and the wines.

Adding a unique dimension to the evening, renowned winemaker Roberto Bottega will personally guide guests through each pairing, sharing the stories, philosophy and craftsmanship behind every vintage. From elegant expressive whites to the acclaimed Idiom Cape Blend 2022, a world-class, Pinotage-led blend renowned for its depth and distinction, guests will gain rare insight into the passion that defines the Idiom portfolio.

The menu includes:

  • Amuse Bouche
  • Starter: Pan-seared scallops with sweetcorn velouté, charred baby corn and citrus beurre blanc, paired with Idiom Sémillon 2024 and Idiom Viognier 2024.
  • Entrée: Duck confit ravioli with wild mushroom duxelles, truffle jus and parmesan crisp, paired with Idiom Sangiovese 2022 and Idiom Zinfandel 2022.
  • Palate Cleanser: “Skinos” sorbet.
  • Main Course: Kalahari Black Angus rib-eye served two ways with celeriac purée, parsnip bacon truffle mash and smoked bone marrow jus, paired with Idiom Cape Blend 2022 and Idiom Bordeaux Blend 2022.
  • Cheese Course: Artisan Klein River Cheese selection with seeded lavash, quince paste and candied walnuts, paired with Idiom Imperium Black Gold Hailstorm Merlot Raisin Wine.

Set within the sophisticated Level Four Restaurant, located at 54 on Bath, this intimate evening offers the perfect setting for guests to indulge in exceptional cuisine, celebrated wines and engaging conversation with one of South Africa’s leading winemakers.
