HOLISTIC / FOH / F&B MANAGER- ZANZIBAR

Crawford & Carruthers Inc. is searching for a dynamic Manager to join the team at a luxury Lodge in Zanzibar, Tanzania.

This is a unique position where the perfect candidate will be responsible for managing the F&B, FOH Guest Experience as well as the Spa on the property.

5* Lodge experience essential.

Candidate should be an energetic, proactive person with good communication skills and focus being on guest experience.

Skills and Knowledge Requirements

Knowledge of Stock rotation and control.
Food and Beverage and Hospitality Knowledge is essential.
Excellent understanding of all dietary requirements.
Strong Knowledge of Hygiene and Safety.
Spa Management and Training Skills
Knowledge of excursions and activities (Yoga, Pilates etc.).
Creativity and Innovation (creating Holistic Menus in collaborating with the Executive Chef)

Job Responsibility and Function.

Service and Guest Care

Ensure that all guests are met, greeted, actively served, and entertained when they are entering the main bar, restaurant, and lounge area.
Manager and train FOH staff to ensure guest services are met.

Holistic and Spa Experience

Should strive to maintain and motivate the entire SPA team and be able to create a culture of care and service excellence among employees.
Able to develop and implement SPA operational goals, policies, and procedures. Additionally responsible for leading the efficient and effective Spa operations including short and long-term.
strategic planning.

Product knowledge – F&B

Know food menus and ingredients of dishes so that you can discuss options with guests with confidence.

Know all wines on the wine list and all other beverages being served.
Be able to recommend cocktails, wines, and other beverages to guests according to their preferences.
Know excursions and activities (what do we have on offer, details, prices) to be able to explain and sell them to guests.
Ensure all employees of the assigned department have got the above-mentioned knowledge.
Communicate with the Head Chef on any changes in menu, stock shortages and dietaries for guests. Rely these to the FOH team.

HR

Maintain discipline in the department according to property and company standards, address deviations according to disciplinary company standards.
To follow, monitor, manage, train, review and implement performance standards to establish and maintain a streamlined and efficient operation.

Financial

To manage, monitor all costs and implement measures to control them.
Ensure that the necessary stocks are ordered and on hand at the right quality and quantity according to property / company standards and par levels.
