Tanzanian Safaris on Tap in Australasia

Buoyed by growing organic interest in Africa from Australasia’s travel trade and adventurers, specialist hotel and tourism representation company, The Perfections Group and Tanzanian Destination Management Company (DMC), Tanganyika Expeditions, have partnered to deliver custom safari experiences, Kilimanjaro treks, and Zanzibar stays to Australian and New Zealand travellers.

Established in 1989, Tanganyika Expeditions has over 25 years of expertise in curating immersive journeys across Tanzania, catering to FIT travellers, small groups, tour series groups as well as incentives. With a robust safari vehicle fleet, private luxury accommodations, and advanced technical resources, the company has set the benchmark for high-quality, reliable safari experiences in Tanzania.

Over the years, Tanganyika has positioned itself as the leader in sustainable tourism with massive investments in solar energy, rainwater collection and recycling. It is also the first DMC in Tanzania to offer E-4X4s.

Partnering with The Perfections Group, Tanganyika Expeditions wants to strengthen its brand presence and drive awareness of its expert-led safaris, and adventure travel offerings in the Australasian market.

“Expanding into Australasia is a natural next step for us,” says Guillaume Lebouteux, Commercial Director of Tanganyika Expeditions.

“We have seen success in other markets by partnering with representation companies like The Perfections Group, who understand the travel landscape and can effectively position our brand locally. Through this partnership, with a dedicated partner on the ground, we are confident that the demand for Tanzanian safaris from Australia and New Zealand will continue to grow.”

With an international presence spanning South Africa, Australia, and the United Kingdom, The Perfections Group, has over 25 years of experience in hotel and DMC representation, sales and marketing.

Its Australasian division is led by Liam Oddie, a respected industry professional with more than two decades of expertise in international markets, having held key leadership roles in sales and marketing for renowned hospitality brands including Sun International and Legacy Hotels & Resortsbefore immigrating to Australia.

Oddie says: “Having lived, worked, and travelled extensively across both Africa and Australasia, I understand the deep-seated passion that Australians and New Zealanders have for authentic adventure experiences in Africa. The appetite for African safaris continues to grow, particularly in Tanzania, where the diversity of landscapes, wildlife, and cultural experiences is second to none.

“Tanganyika Expeditions has an exceptional reputation for delivering unparalleled itineraries, lodges and service. We are excited to introduce more travellers from this region to the wonders of Tanzania through this partnership.”
