A beloved culinary gem, Qunu’s Executive Chef Matthew Foxon’s new menus honour South Africa’s rich gastronomic heritage while embracing contemporary influences within a new space bathed in natural light complete with modern artworks.

Guests can enjoy a 2, 3 or 4-course menu perfectly paired by Saxon’s expert sommeliers from an extensive, award-winning wine list. The 6-course tasting menu available Thursday – Saturday leads guests on an epicurean journey of Qunu favourites and innovative new dishes.

The Olive Bar offers more than just drinks—it’s an experience. Step into a world of refined indulgence nestled just off the main Terrace and experience expertly designed signature cocktails, familiar mixes, and premium beverages from Saxon’s skilled mixologists.

Doubled in size, an inviting wraparound bar fit with light marble and bespoke warm underlighting creates an inviting glow alongside intimate lounge nooks, beckoning guests to unwind and enjoy a light meal or a pre-dinner drink in a setting that exudes sophistication and charm.

The Terrace has seen a dramatic new look offering a stylish al fresco dining experience, perfect for soaking in South Africa’s stunning weather and breathtaking sunsets.

Enchanting views across Saxon’s pristine pool and lush gardens, the Terrace creates a private sanctuary of tranquillity and elegance.
A new comprehensive menu features a delightful selection of dishes designed to satisfy including prawn linguini, braised lamb shank, and the renowned Saxon beef burger. Grill items, cooked to perfection using the Mibrasa charcoal grill, include exquisite options like Wagyu steak with a 9+ marble score, yellowfin tuna, and grass-fed beef.
Sweet tooths can indulge with a selection of Saxon classics, including the decadent Saxon torte, and new treats including a refreshing calamansi-glazed lemon mousse, Guajana chocolate ice cream, and a rich vanilla baked cheesecake.

Nelson Kubheka, founder of Ommni Design is the visionary behind these re-imagined spaces. Combining a fresh, modern African design ethos with a deep respect for the hotel’s rich history, Nelson weaves authentic and sustainable elements alongside contemporary touches, redesigned to exude both longevity and luxury.
