Gauteng Tourism and Marketing Partners to Showcase at World Travel Market 2025
Cape Town, Gauteng Tourism, and its marketing partners are gearing up for an exciting and event-filled showcase of the golden province at the World Travel Market Africa (WTM) show from 9 to 11 April at the Cape Town International Convention Centre.
WTM Africa – one of the leading B2B travel trade exhibitions for inbound and outbound African travel and tourism markets attracts more than 5000 travel industry professionals for inbound and outbound tourism markets and exhibits over 700 companies.
Gauteng Tourism’s participation at WTM is part of its larger strategy to tap into new and emerging tourism markets and to showcase the unique offerings of the city region. This year, the trade and marketing platform will provide fertile ground for Gauteng to showcase its vibrant tourism experiences in response to the need to boost small tourism businesses. A strong contingent of five SMMEs representing all 5 regions will form part of the golden province’s showcase together with mainstay co-exhibitors and marketing partners – The Gautrain and Constitution Hill. Joining these co-exhibitors will be the movement Jozi My Jozi, a non-profit organization founded by a coalition of business, civil society organizations and public sector stakeholders who want to see a revitalization of the inner city.
With 99 countries represented and about 45 hosted buyers sourced from emerging and traditional source markets and beyond, the GTA is provided with an opportunity to interact with various trade and the media, establish new markets as well as grow core source markets and support intra Africa travel. “The presence of Brand Gauteng is crucial in global platforms of this nature to bring Gauteng’s brand message and identity as well as to engage target audiences effectively,” says Sthembiso Dlamini – Chief Executive Officer at Gauteng Tourism. “Together with our marketing partners, we will showcase the provinces’ readiness to host the G20 summit and promote packages of identified iconic attractions, Gauteng’s vibrant night life, gastronomy, history & culture and adventure,” she adds.
Apart from the many travel trade sales engagements and leads generation sessions planned for the 3 days of the show, Gauteng will also use the platform to showcase immersive experiences like the Gautrain and AmaPiano musical activations. With these interactive features Gauteng will highlight itself as a prime destination for both business and leisure travel.
Join us at WTM Africa as we discover the endless possibilities within Africa’s travel and tourism sector, gain valuable insights, and play an active role in shaping the future of the industry.
