Job Description
- Level: CL
Purpose
Reporting to the Regional Tourism Development Manager, the Tourism Development Officer will be responsible for execution of selected development strategies that target tourism development opportunities in the region.
Requirements
Minimum 3-year tertiary qualification in Tourism Management or Hospitality Management or equivalent relevant qualification plus 3 (three) years’ relevant experience.
A valid (Code B) Driver’s Licence
Computer Literacy – Ability to work on Microsoft programmes such as Word, Excel, spreadsheet, Output etc.
Communication Skills (Written and Spoken)
Key Performance Areas
Tourism Product Development: Identify and Support tourism related projects (in and outside the reserves).
Tourism research and knowledge: Conduct tourism awareness and career guidance sessions in conjunction with other departments.
Stakeholder Involvement: Assist with long term program planning and development by identifying tourism industry development requirements, establishing provincial priorities, and making recommendations in meetings the needs of the industry.
Administrative Support: Provide administration support for the Regional Tourism Development Manager.
