Our client is an established, award-winning tour operator, leading the way in the specialist field of luxury safari travel. They create memorable travel experiences to Africa and the Indian Ocean for a high-end, international client base.
To support their continued growth our client is searching for an experienced, passionate and self-motivated Product Co-ordinator to join its Cape Town office. The Product Co-ordinator will support the implementation of their product strategy, covering all aspects of the product cycle and relationships with suppliers. The successful candidate will offer invaluable support to the travel experts, marketing team and product manager. This is a fantastic opportunity for a travel professional with opportunities for growth within a leading luxury tour operator at its next pivotal stage of development.
Duties & Responsibilities
RESPONSIBILITIES
– Filter and circulate product updates from suppliers to the relevant teams
– Transfer and maintain contract rates and special offers on our in house system
– Support the Product Manager with product development through research and competitor
analysis
– Create and maintain costings on sample itineraries for the website and marketing
purposes
– Manage the product inbox
– Assist with arranging educational trips for staff
– Support travel experts with live product and pricing queries to improve sales conversion
– Provide marketing with content and photography updates
– Enhance personal product knowledge by attending supplier training sessions, supplier events
and educational visits
Desired Experience & Qualification
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
ESSENTIAL
– 2 years+ in a product management/support role
– A demonstrable passion for travel
– Strong organisation and time management skills
– Advanced levels of IT literacy
– Excellent communication skills, both written and verbally
– High levels of accuracy in all written and numerical work
– Strong attention to detail
– Ability to problem solve
DESIRED
– In depth knowledge/experience of Sub-Saharan Africa, the Indian Ocean Islands or UAE
– Knowledge of destinations beyond Africa, but aligned to luxury wildlife / nature experiences
– GDS / flight operating systems
